Indian Snacks have a variety of options depending upon your geography and season. Parippu Vadas is a South Indian snack dish. You can choose to have it in morning or evening. They are yummy and rich in protein. If you wish to avoid it because of it being fried, choose to have it with curd. I best you will not complain. A simple and yummy recipe.
Soaked Chana Dal and Urad Dal. (Soaked for 5 hours)
Ground Coriander Seeds
Finely Chopped Green Chillies
Finely Chopped Onions
Finely chopped Ginger or grated Ginger Flakes
Finely Chopped Garlic
Chopped Dill Leaves
Coarsely grind Chana Dal and Urad Dal till you reach a non-sticky consistency. Add salt, coriander seeds, chillies, curry leaves, ginger and garlic. Add dill leaves and mix well. Then add chopped onions. Create lime sized portions out of the mixture. Flatten the portions and deep fry them until golden brown. Serve them hot with hot tea, a Traditional Indian Green Dip or chilled curd.
